So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Interactive Operation
You can invoke the Export and Import utilities with the commands:
exp [userid] imp [userid]
where userid can be a username or a username/password combination or can be omitted entirely. If a password is not supplied, the interactive dialog prompts for the password. The userid can be qualified with the identifier @net_service_name or the keywords AS SYSDBA; these options are required for certain uses of the Export utility, such as tablespace point-in-time recovery for Oracle8.
