DISTRIBUTED_RECOVERY_CONNECTION_HOLD_TIME

Synopsis

Value: 0-1800

Default: 200

Specifies the length of time in seconds to hold a remote connection open after a distributed transaction fails. (The purpose of holding the connection open is the hope that communication will be restored without having to reestablish the connection.) Values larger than 1800 seconds can be specified, but because the reconnection and recovery background process run every 30 minutes (1800 seconds) whether or not a failure occurs, a value of 1800 means that the connection never closes. Obsolete with Oracle8i.
