The reports and listings we have seen thus far are called tabular reports, which consist of a series of columns and rows. If the rows have repeating values, the repeating values will be displayed on each row. It is not generally desirable to do this. A much more pleasing and effective technique is to print a column value only when it changes. This reduces the amount of data on your report and helps the reader identify pertinent information. The type of report that prints values only when they change is called a group left report.
