Adding a folder to a resource catalog

A folder allows you to organize the content of a resource catalog in a logical way. This way, you can group content together so users can easily find the resources they want.

Getting ready

For this recipe, you will need a WebCenter portal application.

How to do it...

  1. In JDeveloper, open the default-catalog.xml file from the Web Content/oracle/Webcenter/portalapp/catalogs folder.
  2. Click on the Add button (green plus sign) and select Folder from the context menu.
  3. Enter an id for the folder.
  4. Enter a value for the visible property. This should be expression language. This way you can bind the visible attribute of the folder to a managed bean and bind it to some business logic from your beans.
