Creating a connection to an application server

In JDeveloper you can deploy applications directly to an application server. Before you can do this, you first need to create a connection to the application server.

In this recipe, I will show how you can create a connection to an application server.

Getting ready

For this recipe you need a running standalone WebLogic server.

How to do it

  1. In JDeveloper open the File menu and select New.
  2. Select Connection from the General section in the left list.
  3. Select Application Server Connection from the list on the right.
  4. Press OK.
  5. Specify a Name for your connection.
  6. Press Next.
  7. Specify the Username and Password for the administrator in the server.
  8. Press Next.
  9. Specify the Hostname of your remote server.
  10. Specify the Port
