Duncan (1972) proposed another model of environmental typology which operates
on the basis of two dimensions of the environment, namely stability and complexity. Sta-
bility refers to the predictability in the environmental forces, that is, in resources, market,
technological development, economic conditions, and so on. Complexity refers to the
variability of environmental forces that an organization has to deal with. Duncan proposes
