Using Contingencies of Reinforcement
For positive reinforcement to cause a desired behaviour to be repeated, it must have value
for the employee. If the employee is consistently on time, the manager may positively reinforce
this behaviour by complimenting the employee. But if the employee has been reprimanded in
the past for coming to work late and then reports to work on time, the manager uses negative
reinforcement and refrains from saying anything to embarrass the employee.  e manager
