File or Pile? Choosing Paper Storage Options
You are now at a crossroads much like the scene in Figure 5.1, and you must choose one road or the other before continuing on to set up your filing system. To the right is the far more common route, a veritable four-lane highway of paper management. To the left, a humble footpath—most definitely the road less traveled of organized paper storage.

Traditional, vertical, in-cabinet filing is the correct choice for many people. It's efficient, aesthetically pleasing, logical, and universally recognizable.
But let's not dismiss the left-hand path too ...
