14. A Routing Daemon for Linux
This chapter discusses the port of the ospfd software to the Linux operating system, running on x86-based PCs. Installation of the software was discussed in Section 2.1. Configuration of the software is covered in Section 14.1. Section 14.2 discusses how to customize the configuration command syntax. Dynamic reconfiguration and the graceful shutdown of the ospfd software are covered in Sections 14.3 and 14.4, respectively. Monitoring the operation of ospfd software is the subject of Section 14.5. Limitations of the Linux port are itemized in Section 14.6. The chapter ends with a discussion of the porting details (Section 14.7).
