Kip Williams was a young psychology professor sitting on a picnic blanket with his dog when a wayward Frisbee flew into his back. He turned and saw two students not far away looking hopefully in his direction. He stood and tossed the Frisbee back to one of them and was surprised when it came scaling back to him.
Before he knew it, Williams was involved in their game, catching the Frisbee from one and then tossing it to the other in a wide triangle.
