What is creativity?

By definition, creativity is the set of cognitive brain functions that revolve around solving problems, expressing ideas and concepts that are uniquely original or producing something new that has never been made before.

In most cases, human creativity stems from the need to complete a previously impossible task or from the desire to entertain or outwardly express an inner feeling. Whereas task-inspired creativity usually results in the invention of tools or methods, expressive creativity is what drives us to produce things like art, writing, dance, and photography.
