Creating the Scoreboard
Now that the KPIs have been identified, a scoreboard can be constructed for the leadership team to use for forecasting results. The scoreboard for our case study company can be seen in Table 4.3.
The final step in completing your scoreboard is to identify the people who will be forecasting for each KPI. When first considering this, it may appear obvious who should be assigned to each KPI; however, this is not always the case. The most common mistake I see is that the person identified to forecast a KPI is the person who has the easiest access to the number, as opposed to the greatest influence over it.
