17.1 Introduction
The purpose of this chapter is to provide practical
design and engineering guidelines for the control of
safe oxygen-enriched combustion systems. This chap-
ter is divided into two categories of combustion sys-
tems. The rst category includes the integration of an
oxygen supply and control system into an existing air/
fuel combustion process. The enrichment of the air
with oxygen is usually facilitated by an oxygen injec-
tion device that is installed into the air supply pipe-
