7.7 Cleaning Agents
Although there is a wide variety of cleaning agents and
solvents being used for cleaning oxygen pipe lines, they
all follow a similar classication:
1. Cleaning agents having an alkaline base for the
removal of grease, oil, and organic matter.
2. Cleaning agents having an acid base for the
removal of scale, rust, and metallic particulate
matter.
3. Solvents are used for the removal of grease, oil,
and other organic material.
4. Detergents are used generally for the removal
of earth, dirt, etc. These detergents, as a rule,
