With all its extra features and functionality and organizing tools, don't forget that your Pre is a phone, after all. Besides all the other cool things you can do with it, its primary job is to allow you to make and receive phone calls and send and receive text messages. In this chapter, you'll explore the phone features of your Pre.

Making Calls

Making a call from your Pre is pretty darned simple. And because folks are different, Pre offers a number of ways to quickly reach out and touch someone. Here are some ways to initiate calls on your Pre, all of which I talk about in more detail in the upcoming sections:

  • Using the phone dial pad

  • From Launcher or in Card View

  • By contact name

  • Using speed dial

  • Redialing the last number called

  • Using a number that appears on a Web page or in an e-mail or text message

To access the phone portion of your Pre, just tap the Phone icon on the Quick Launch toolbar at the bottom of the Pre main screen.
