In Chapter 7, I discuss the traditional paths that high school seniors typically follow upon graduation. There are, however, increasing numbers of attractive, lower, and faster alternatives, especially compared with traditional four-year colleges.
Some of these programs aren’t new. Some, in fact, have been around for generations. Others are new and emerging. Overall, the good news is that now more than ever, high school graduates have more, better, and less costly options than ever before. And, a number of the programs discussed in this chapter can be combined with college programs discussed in Chapter 7.
So, don’t leap to conclusions too quickly as to which path your kids will take. Explore the options and then begin to make some fully informed choices. This chapter helps you understand and explore the alternatives to traditional colleges. ...
