All background information in PeopleSoft is stored as accomplishments. An accomplishment specifies a distinct achievement, such as learning a language, completing a degree, or obtaining a license.
PeopleSoft uses accomplishments to track employee progress using position management, but position management is not a prerequisite for using accomplishments functionality. The system can be set up to associate certain accomplishments with a particular position. You can then make sure that all managers have MBAs or that all auditors are licensed. PeopleSoft provides extensive functionality for organizing employees according to skills and achievements.
