Some new employees get a longer honeymoon than others do, so it is important to stay focused on the onboarding plan during the first 30 days. Often in larger, more mature organizations, employees stay “new” for three to four months or sometimes longer. We know of one large organization that considers employees new until they have celebrated their two-year anniversary! On the other extreme are smaller, high-growth organizations that are hiring employees weekly or even daily.
