A call to arms
My most powerful motivation technique, the one that took me to NZ, and then took me away again seven years later on the yachts, and the one that drives me to stay in the UK now no matter how hard it currently feels is: ‘If only’.
I envisage myself at the age of 70 in my rocking chair, smoking a pipe (I hope to smoke a pipe!) reflecting back on my life, and thinking: ‘If only I had tried this or that … ’.
I like to fail, for it means that at least I have had a go, and if in giving it a go I succeed then so much the better, and if I fail then at least I will not be there in my rocking chair thinking: ‘If only … ’.
