Abstract: In this article, I intend to show that a categorical analysis of the Marxian concept of wealth may prove useful for understanding the contradictory effects of globalization. Authors like Douglas Kellner point out that globalization is a dual process, containing both positive and negative aspects. Moishe Postone has developed an immanent critique of capitalism that contrasts the forms of domination in modern society with its emancipatory potential.
