8 WORLD WAR II INSPIRED

I’ve always been fascinated by anything to do with the 1940s, especially the history around World War II.

My uncle is an author and while conducting research for his books, he met and became friends with a wonderful gentleman by the name of Richard “Dick” Rutter, who had been awarded the Military Medal (MM) for bravery during the conflict in Normandy. Dick served alongside my granddad, who had passed a number of years before we met Dick, so it was wonderful to develop a friendship with him and hear fascinating stories from his years of service.
