There are many variables that determine whether a photograph enchants or underwhelms a viewer. Key among them in determining the quality of a photo is the ratio of an image’s proportions. Every format, or aspect ratio, produces a unique effect. Visual formats have the potential to accentuate or undercut the subject of an image.
