The Icelanders call the area around three of the best-known attractions in the south the Golden Circle. The three most popular locations: Geysir, Gullfoss (a huge two-tier waterfall), and Þingvellir (the site of Iceland’s ancient national parliament) make up a round-trip that you can book with a number of tour operators. The tour described here includes three additional wonderful waterfalls in the area around Selfoss.
