Argentinean photographer Walter Astrada began his photojournalism
career in 1996 as a staff photographer at La Nacio

n newspaper.

He worked for the Associated Press for several years, then as a freelance
photographer for Agence France-Presse from 2005 until 2010, but is
now represented by Reportage by Getty Images. Astrada’s reputation
has soared in the past few years as he has garnered a string of important
awards and grants mostly for a project he has been pursuing on global
violence against women. He has won three World Press Awards; a Sony
World photography award for Current Affairs; a Days Japan public prize for
his work Bloodbath ...
