Is there always a photo to be made?

Q: DO YOU BELIEVE THERE IS ALWAYS A PHOTO TO BE MADE, IN EVERY SITUATION OR OF EVERY PERSON? DO YOU EVER WALK AWAY FROM AN OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PICTURES SAYING, “I KNEW THERE WAS A GREAT PHOTO THERE BUT I COULDN’T FIND IT”?

A: Yes to both of these questions.

There’s always a photo to be made. Some are far more difficult to find than others. Often I will walk around a location, or will look at my subject, and say to myself, “Crap. Crap. Crap. If so-and-so-awesome-photographer were here they’d find an awesome image. They’d turn this place upside down and make something great. I can’t find it. Where is it? What angle? What light? Crap!”

Sometimes I will finish the shoot still not having found it, and it will bug ...
