Going to school for photography.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT GOING TO COLLEGE FOR PHOTOGRAPHY? SHOULD PROSPECTIVE ADVERTISING AND EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS (LIKE MYSELF) LOOK TOWARDS TWO-YEAR OR FOUR-YEAR PROGRAMS? DO YOU HAVE ANY PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS?

A: It depends on you and the school.

If you are the type who learns best by being shown and made to replicate what you’ve been taught, then school is for you. If you tend to be a self-starter and like to figure it out on your own, then school is not for you.
