CHAPTER 8Photonic Systems Using Liquid Crystal and Liquid Devices
Liquid crystal (LC) and liquid-based optical devices can be used to design a host of photonic modules for a variety of applications. The simple placement of optical components within the right 3D layout framework in an optical design can surprisingly achieve challenging system functions via an elegant design. Hence, this chapter describes how LC and liquid-based optical devices can be deployed within an intelligent optical components visual and physical framework to perform desired system specific functions.
