Chapter 3: Process Photos in Camera Raw
Adobe Camera Raw was originally introduced in Photoshop 7 to allow photographers to open RAW file format images through Photoshop without having to venture too far from the Photoshop workspace. Camera Raw still serves this function, but its capabilities have been expanded far beyond the original version, including the capability to use Camera Raw to process TIFF and JPEG images.
There are many advantages to using Camera Raw as a part of your workflow. The most important of these is the ability of Camera Raw to adjust global characteristics such as exposure and color temperature without affecting the actual pixel information in the image.
