CHAPTER TWO
Using Adobe’s Photo Downloader
Adobe Bridge—which is a standalone application that comes
with CS3—now includes a gateway to a very useful application
called Photo Downloader, which can be used to move files
from your digital camera’s memory card directly to a storage
location of your choice. Photo Downloader vastly improves
the performance of the previous Camera Import script and
includes some very important features, including the ability to
apply metadata templates on import or convert image files to
the DNG format.
If your digital camera files have already been transferred to your
computer, you might want to go directly to Chapter 3, where
I’ll describe in detail how to use Adobe Bridge to display these
files as well as organize, rate, and sort them.
