Of the many privileges that I've had while working for Adobe's Photoshop team, few have been as rewarding as watching the original Elements release, which met with such incredible success. We, as a team, set out to offer a great deal of Photoshop's power to a much wider audience, without the complexity of its bigger brother.
Now in its fourth release, Photoshop Elements packs more features than ever into an even easier-to-use program. However, with great features, and extensive control, there is always a certain level of complexity. To address all of the many tips, tricks, shortcuts, and processes, Barbara Brundage has written Photoshop Elements 4: The Missing Manual.
As a technical editor I enjoy reviewing new books for a number of reasons: I can assure that the books offer a level of quality equal to our software; I can get the author's take on our host of new features, and I get to learn all sorts of new tips and tricks for my own benefit.
I've tech edited several titles, and I can honestly say that this latest entry in the Missing Manual series is among the best coverage I've seen and offers an incredible amount of information about Photoshop Elements. I can't count the number of times that, upon seeing a feature introduced in the text, I wrote Barbara a note, "don't forget to mention…," only to read on and find that she already had!
