4.2. The Camera Raw dialog box

You can access the Camera Raw dialog box (as seen in Figure 4.2) by doing one of the following:

• Select one or more RAW images via Photoshop's Open dialog box and click Open.

• Double-click a RAW image thumbnail in Bridge.

• Select one or more RAW, TIFF, or JPEG files in Bridge and right-click (Ctrl+click on a Mac), then select Open in Camera Raw from the context menu.

Incorporating Bridge into your RAW image-processing workflow is probably the more efficient way to work, as you can more comfortably deal with a large number of images by taking advantage of Bridge's many view modes. Also, you have ready access to the images' metadata (see Figure 4.3), which can help you sort and group images based on very specific characteristics, such as image date, focal length, pixel dimensions, file formats, aspect ratios, or even the film speed (ISO) of each image. You can also add rate images and assign descriptive keywords to them.
