Summary

In this chapter, we took our development code, and set up a suitable production environment so that our site can be accessed on the Internet by the public. Along the way, we looked at hosting accounts and domain name registrars, how we might automate our deployment process, and the fiddly settings that needed to be changed so our code would work in a production environment.

We then looked at security options and provisions, to ensure our site stays secure, before looking at maintenance options, focusing on backing up, restoring and testing backups of our site, to ensure we are prepared should something go wrong. We are now ready to look at generating traffic for our site, through marketing and search engine optimization.
