10. Interaction and Placement of Subjects

This chapter covers a topic that, to be honest, is difficult to explain. The reason is that photography is very subjective, and what makes sense to some people might not make sense to others. This chapter focuses on two related and subjective topics: where your subjects are placed within the frame and their interactions in that position.

I’ll explain the reasons why I instantly reject a photograph or accept it as a truly captured moment. Feel free to agree or disagree. In fact, I challenge you to explore the images in detail and come up with your own opinions. I purposely chose photos for this chapter that I once considered good but now find quite embarrassing.
