Summary
Perspectives of Plasma Harmonics
The quest for new plasma media that would favor the enhancement
of an individual harmonic allows further enhancement of harmonic
conversion efficiency. The production of a single high-intensity
harmonic (rather than a group of harmonics of equal intensity in the
plateau region) would open up the way to the practical application
of these coherent short-wavelength radiation sources. Because
resonantly enhanced harmonics have already been observed in
several plasma media, there are strong grounds to believe that
similar conditions will be discovered for other plasma formations.
The generated harmonic wavelength may then be tuned to the
transitions with high oscillator ...
