Of all the Control Panel applets, the System applet is by far the most useful, versatile, and dangerous. As with most things in life, power has its price and in this case the power you have to configure your computer via the System applet also gives you the power to completely muck it up. The System applet in Windows XP has undergone a facelift from the Windows 2000 version, with the addition of the System Restore, Automatic Updates, and Remote tabs.
