Play Readings: A Complete Guide for Theatre Practitioners is the first book on the subject; the scope is narrow, but the attempt is to be comprehensive within the scope. Some who read this book may never have seen or been involved with a Play Reading.

Having experienced Readings at every type of institution that presents them—professional theatres, community theatres, developmental labs, festivals, schools, conferences, literary societies, museums, and libraries—I believe that the observations contained here can be helpful to emerging, mid-career, and professional theatre artists.
