Optimized data storage in Plone

Until now, we had two approaches for storing binary data in Plone. One was the ZODB and one was completely external. The optimal storage for binary data is the filesystem of the operating system. The advantage of storing data in the ZODB is the tight integration of the transaction machinery and the authentication mechanism of Zope.
