This tool is incredibly useful not only in the corporate world, but in our personal lives as well. There is incredible benefit to both the requisite thought process and the process of writing it down. Both help to focus our attention where it matters most; on the matter at hand. While organizational project charters can be quite formal and daunting, both in their format and content, personal project charters don’t require the same pomp and circumstance. What’s important is that the key questions, resources and support are identified and recorded. This is the epitome of expectation management. Without it, the project runs the risk of floundering or of over-extending beyond the available resource capabilities.
