Chapter 11Add a Musical Intro and Outro
To give your podcast a really professional touch, you may want to add some music at the beginning and end. A little bit of music can also be a great transition between two different stories in a longer podcast.
Consult a lawyer if you’re unsure at all about the legality of the music you wish to include on your podcast. Better safe than sorry!
Choosing Music
Depending on the topic of your podcast and your audience, you may want to pick a theme song—a familiar song that people can associate with your podcast every time they hear it. It doesn’t need to be long—just 10 or 15 seconds is more than enough to be memorable. If you don’t believe me, just consider how short a cell phone ringtone is!
