Chapter 2. Connect to Your Audience

Situation today: Most people prepare a presentation by first making PowerPoint slides or writing the talk. Then after a first draft, they spend many hours reorganizing the content, mostly cutting it down. However, they have not yet put themselves into the shoes of their intended audience. They have only put together a talk from their own experience and all the information they have.

Key problems:

The presentation is not effective because it does not properly address the needs of the intended audience. The audience is not persuaded.
