Policy Distribution Using Common Open Policy Service

In place of SNMP, you can use a protocol such as Common Open Policy Service (COPS) to distribute policies to the different devices. COPS is a protocol that was originally developed for use within the context of a signaling protocol such as RSVP, but extensions to the protocol have been proposed that can also be used to provision policies for DiffServ or IP security.
