Abstract
This contribution deals with noble estates (Rittergüter) as a key to trace concepts of early modern political diets (Landtagsversammlungen) and their political and social backgrounds. In the early modern period, noble aspirants who wanted to become members of a noble corporation and attend a provincial diet increasingly had to present proof that they possessed such an estate.
