This book was devoted to studying the decisions and solutions for automation in container terminals. There were two main objectives in this book. The first objective was to study optimization problems in container terminals. The second objective was dedicated to developing advanced algorithms for the scheduling problem of AGVs in ports.
To address the first objective, we did a survey on the research done for the decisions in container terminal and then formulated them as Constraint Satisfaction Optimization Problems (CSOPs). The five decisions are formulated separately so that they can be studied independently.
