Resonant Converters 20-11
20.3.6 Series- and Parallel-Loaded Resonant DC–DC Converters
e load R can be connected in series with LC or in parallel with C in SRCs. e rst case is called
series-loaded resonant (SLR) converter, while the second one is called parallel-loaded resonant (PLR)
converter. When the converter is used as a DC–DC converter, the load circuit is built up by a trans-
former followed by a diode rectier, a low-pass lter, and nally the actual load resistance. e resonant
circuit makes possible the use of a high-frequency transformer reducing its size and the size of the lter
components in the low-pass lter.
