26.1 Introduction
e chapter presents a variety of commonly used control methods for vibration damping in two-mass
drive systems. e nite stiness of the sha causes torsional vibrations that aect the drive system
performance signicantly. Torsional vibrations limit the performance of many industrial drives. ey
decrease the system reliability, product quality, and in some specic cases, they can even lead to instabil-
