phase winding, typically a three-phase winding. e phase coils of such a winding are fed by sinewave
currents synchronous with the corresponding ux linkages due to the PM ux.
ere are two key advantages in using the PMs to create the main magnetic ux of the machine. First,
the space required by the PMs for the magnetization is small, so that the motor design exhibits several
