5.0. Introduction

Major accessories required for satisfactory operation of actuators is necessary. Table VI/5.0-1 outlines the functionalities of these items. Based on the function desired, a designer can choose the required ones for a particular application.

5.1. AFR

In a power plant there is one common instrument air pressure line throughout the plant. This pressure is generally kept close to 7 kg/cm2g, whereas the air supply requirements for control valves, power cylinders, and I/P converters vary (see Table VI/5.3.1-1). AFR is used to supply air to the pneumatic device at the required pressure.
