Abstract:
This chapter provides an overview into the practices and procedures used in the repair and rejuvenation of hot section components of the gas turbine. It initially discusses the maintenance procedures currently being adopted, detailing the changes in the market and the drive for improved availability and reliability. It then links these market drivers and illustrates how advanced technology repairs can lead to part life extension and reduced overall costs while maintaining the key required metrics.
