Design of the overcurrent protection circuit
The MC34067 has only a simple comparator with a 1.0V threshold that then
latches an R-S flip-flop. Either the input voltage must be removed and then
reapplied, or the Vcc of the control IC must be interrupted momentarily to reset
the failure latch.
I desire only a fairly rudimentary overcurrent protection that will be set at
about 12A. I will use a 100:1 current transformer followed by a rectifier bridge
then an R-C integrator-smoother.
