When we met our friend Gina for lunch, she couldn’t wait to update us about her videography business. It had grown immensely since we’d last seen her, and now it was generating more work than Gina could handle on her own. Her excitement was obvious as she shared the news that she was considering formalizing a partnership with a woman with whom she had recently collaborated on a documentary project. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, her tone grew somber. “I just don’t think I can do it,” she said. “What if I let her down? What if she lets me down? What if I can’t give up control? What if she can’t?”
